Transit Moving Systems has been nothing short of a moving nightmare for me and my wife. When we first approached them - the sales person, Mark Nash, was responsive to phone calls, friendly, and made me feel like I could trust him and his company to move my belongings. However, when things went wrong - and by wrong - they went really wrong - Mark has been MIA. On the way to our new home the truck carrying our life's belongings hit a deer and fell over on it's side. Thankfully, the driver was okay but we can't say the same for our belongings. All of our furniture, including dining room table, beds, desks, and precious family heirlooms were destroyed. Not only were they destroyed - but rather than calling us immediately to let us know - we had to call THEM 2 days after our belongings had not arrived to find out that the truck had been in an accident and our belongings were destroyed! Major mistake on their part number one. Number two - Mark Nash - the friendly guy who always returned my phone calls and was so helpful- will now not give me the time of day - I have called him multiple times, leaving voice mails with no return calls!! Number three - when speaking with a woman who worked in the office trying to sort out this mess she became angry at me and accused me of not even caring about how the driver was - which was so unprofessional I couldn't believe it. FOUR - I have yet to receive the necessary paperwork so that I file a claim with the insurance company - It's been two and a half weeks!! We can't afford to just go buy new stuff- so now we have no furniture and a totally non-responsive, un-caring company that could care less about the mess they have created our of our lives. I would caution everyone to steer clear of this business if you care about your belongings. Yes, accidents happen - but how a company cares for you after they have gotten their money says a lot about who they are - and they are not a good company. They do not care. They do not wish to be bothered by something that is their responsibility.

The thought of moving my things from Galveston to Oakland Park weighed me down. I was weighed down by the thought of stress that will be involved in the packing and the long distance that the goods will have to transverse. I opened up to a colleague at work and she advised me to hire Transit Moving Systems. If not for her advice, I would have made a wrong decision. Transit Moving was engaged and the company did a great job for me. I must confess that I have not seen this type of customer-oriented service before. The Boxes were tapped well and no damages or broken items found over the destination. The moving trip was a success and I'm very happy after I have found Transit Moving Systems.

Move size: 3 Bedroom Home Service cost: $1900

My one star rating is generous. My belongings has to be stored for a few months, so the movers wrapped my leather couches and chairs in plastic in order to protect the leather. While in storage the furniture got wet, sealing the plastic to the leather. Apparently the contract says that they are not liable for water damage. Seriously.
Upon delivery to my final destination, the delivery driver threatened to take my things to storage if I did not pay in cash (money order or cashier's check would not do, which I had left because they scheduled delivery on the one day I told them it would be impossible for me to be home.). When I arrived home, I came home to beds that didn't belong to me, furniture that did not belong to me and dozens of broken boxes. When I called trying to return the furniture that didn't belong to me, they said that they were not responsible for returning furniture to the rightful owners. So now I have beds and heirloom pieces that some poor other family is missing. Maybe they have my piano bench and daughter's bedroom set? Upon filing a claim, it took daily calls and over 4 months to be able to get my claim reviewed. Adding insult to injury, the settlement amount maybe covered the items of one out of the dozen boxes that never arrived. I'm chalking this up to a painful lesson learned. Trying to minimize my moving cost, ended up a very expensive proposition.

Move size: 3 Bedroom Home Service cost: $8000

No matter how many times I called them to make correction or update the inventory list of items we want to move from Houston, TX to Renton, WA. For example: I said we have a full king bed set with headset, baseboard, nightstand..and 3 queen beds with headset, baseboard box springs..They always wrote down 3 twin/queen beds. I asked them why he put like that. The guy, Jimmy, said that doesn’t worry the mover will understand, and the cubic foot was calculating to include the whole queen bed set. The list go on and on with missed note on the estimate inventory. I though the guy is honest and do the right estimate around 950 cubic feet for whole house of 4 bed rooms. We packed everything in approximate 50 home depot medium size moving boxes. Jimmy said the measure of the box is considered small 18"x18"x16". They promised to have moving truck to get my stuffs on Dec 26th. Surprise?? They called around 1pm on the day they supposed to pick up out stuffs, and said the truck was in an accident and cannot come to move my stuffs. The excuse sounds so familiar! The next day the movers show up. They really send a scam artist to our house. The first thing he did was run up to my bedroom and said they could not move these box springs. The paper only showed queen beds and no box springs. I was so mad and tried to call Jimmy. He was hiding for 2 hours from the phone. He was talking to the mover in Middle East language I guessed?? I thread them by saying I want to cancel the whole move. They can start unwrap the furniture. The crook added almost 400 cubic ft to the original estimate. I have to fly out to Seattle the next day. I cannot find new mover to move my stuffs and delay my flight. The guy gave me new quote of $5800. The original is under $3500. The whooping of $2300 was added to the original quote. I told them I will not do if it's over $5300. They finally do it for $5300. They damaged 2 of my value decorative items. I just don't want to waste time to claim for them. They carried and moved our boxes upside down or they flipped them in whatever position they felt like it. It's unbelievable and bunch of unprofessional crooks try to rip of people. I would rather rent a unpack 23 ft container. They give 2 days to load and another 3 days to unload them. We can hide a Prof Mover to move our stuffs. We can control exactly how much we want to move and it will much cheaper than get help for this crook.

Move size: 4+ Bedroom Home Service cost: $5300

I used Transit to move from Vancouver, WA to Louisville, KY. Good communication at first but once they had my stuff I had to harass and call multiple times to find out when I could expect my stuff for delivery. First I was told one date, then almost a week before I got a call from a person I could barely understand who said if I didn't meet him at my address he was going to leave and I would be charged more money. I left work and rushed over and received another call claiming that he could not get his truck into my complex? I've seen huge moving trucks moving folks in since I've lived her so not sure what his problem was but I had to rent a moving truck and meet him at a storage facility where my stuff was unloaded and I had to drive my stuff back to my new place and unload it. Multiple boxes were crushed and/or torn and my entertainment unit/table was completely cracked and the person who made the delivery could care less. Offered no apology for the run around or damage and basically said give me my cash and up to you to call whatever number you have and supposedly I could file a claim. I was so upset. I did not call..figured that's what I get for using a crappy company who pawns off your goods to some sketchy moving guy.

STOP. ALL REVIEWS ARE FAKE. do a reverse google search on the profile’s photos and there boom copied straight from google. This is a fraud company, The price estimate will triple in price when all your stuff is packed. FRAUD REPORT THESE SCUMMY SCAMMERS TO THE FMCSA, (888) 368-7238 CALL IMMEDIATELY.  

Mike was the most unprofessional in this company who makes the biggest mistake!! bringing up the price of move on the day before the pick up and blame it on the computer mistake.

Also the movers are ex convicts with knife scars bullet wounds and tattoos. DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THESE SCAMMERS

They delivery whenever they are comfortable, regardless of what you have been told on the pick up date.

I received my furniture 2 weeks after all broken and damaged !!

This is a big fraud, the most horrible experience I have ever experienced in my life!!

Move size: 2 Bedroom Home Service cost: $61851

Unprofessional and dishonest. I was very explicit in my requirements for a move/moving company, it needed to be the same company from start to finish, uniformed/identifiable, professional, full service/white glove. Not at all what I got despite them having headquarters in Texas and Washington. I paid for a full pack and move, they sent movers who were not identifiable/uniformed, plain white truck with a white paper duct taped to the side of it that said "Transit Moving", and the movers were not prepared. They walked into my home and asked if they were to take everything, I confirmed 'yes, pack and move everything'; they looked at each other in agony and began throwing their items on my patio to begin packing. I asked several times if they needed to call for back up, they said no, instead ordered lunch and had 3-4 other guys meet them on the truck for over an hour. It took them 8 hours to pack and load my items for a 2 bd/2bath, I was promised 5 hours even when I questioned it the sales person assured me that I had nothing to worry about. I checked in with the sales person during all of this, and no response. After I sent him a picture of the truck that showed up, he finally replied, "call dispatch". Shortly after I received a text from an unknown number, threatening to remove the guys from the move if I "did not reply in 5 minutes to this text".

Fast forward to the delivery, not Transit Moving as promised, it was a guy also not uniformed or identifiable and from Century North. He showed up with 1 person to unload this 2 bd/2bath home, then while I was on the truck confirming my items another guy showed up from off the street in tshirt and jeans asking "Hey, did you call? I can help today for about two hours". A complete stranger, not employed with either companies to unload my belongings! The sheer disrespect. Then he refused to put together the items that were broken down claiming it was complicated, cursed at my husband in front of my child, told us that we were "shit out of luck, and expected too much from a moving company", and left a mess and items outside in the loading area resulting in a fine to us. Upon unpacking, which I am still getting through, many items were broken, and things not packed with any type of care or regard. DO NOT HIRE THIS COMPANY.

Move size: 2 Bedroom Home Service cost: $5173

My experience with the company has been horrible. Initial contacts were fine, but then insufficient staff and time were allocated to pack and load my things, resulting in significant damage. At the final destination, delivery driver was rude and things were literally dumped as he rushed to unload my property and get to next delivery. The company has been very unresponsive to complaints of loss and breakage and since I elected per weight liability coverage I have been told that the value of my actual losses are “irrelevant.” I did not realize that selecting that option absolved the company from any liability or attention to quality service, but apparently it does. My bike never arrived, an entire set of china was smashed, a valuable sewing machine was set in a box with no packing or protection. I am heartbroken.

One of the worst business experiences of my life. They quoted a low price and signed a contract only to refuse to honor that price and demand $1000 more (nothing changed on my side).

Communication was incredibly unprofessional. They say they are movers not brokers but my movers were with a different company.

They handled my stuff carelessly and lots of it arrived damaged or broken. They also only sent 1 guy from the brokered company to unload our stuff --I ended up having to help them unload the truck. What am I paying for?

Two weeks after arriving in Vegas I called and was told 'oh, they are loading the truck now.' It was another week before my items arrived at 11pm on a Friday. The boxed had been through the wringer and most were well smashed so pack well.

I have a power rack for weight lifting and since I don't know anyone in Vegas I asked multiple times if they could disassemble and reassemble it for me and was told yes repeatedly. The delivery drivers refused to assemble it. I called the company and left a message to discuss this and they never returned my call.

DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!!

Nothing but lies and hidden charges. I got an estimate for a "local move" fit about 600, then things changed and I had to have my stuff stored for a few day, which they said they'd accommodate it for an extra 150. Movers show up (2 of the 3 promised), have me sign blank paperwork, then start moving my stuff. Takes twice as long as it should have, then they sit in their truck for about 20 min, supposedly on the phone with headquarters getting the prices. They come back with over 1200 price, not the 750 or so it was promised. The mover said he doesn't know what they charge, he just writes the numbers down. I was also still charged for 3 movers, not 2. The gentleman that gave me the estimate and additions, who was super friendly, all of the sudden stops talking to me when I approach him with this. So I call the main line, put on hold for about 30 min, and told that the movers haven't input my paperwork yet, so there's nothing they can do. I call every day until the day my stuff was supposed to be delivered, about 30 min on hold each time, and told the same thing, until today. Finally got an answer, saying they're going to readjust the pricing for the mover issue, but the flat fee, that was quoted at 277 and jumped up to 892 once they picked up, was not going to be changed, and I'd have to file a claim after my stuff is dropped off. Wonderful customer service.. They're also charging me another 400 for storing my stuff a few extra days due to closing on my house getting pushed back again. I can't afford this stuff. Stay away at all costs!! They also only accept cash or postal money order before delivery, but don't tell you how much it will be until they drop off. Horrible place, don't use them!

Update 12/22/17: Shortly after posting the review, I got a call from one of the managers, David. He stated that he wants to explain my charges and try to make things right. The "flat fee" for transit is not a flat fee, they just advertise it as one. They still charge you that flat fee multiple times. So, false advertising. They also decided to lower my worker fee and just charge for the 2 that showed instead of the 3 that was promised and originally charged. They also lowered the extra 6 days of storage from 400 to 200, which is definitely a lot better. My total is still almost twice what was originally quoted, though that was pre 150 storage fee for 4 days. They also still tried to argue with me about "not telling them about the extra storage needed" even though I told them about it every day for the last 3 days. So, in exchange for me editing or removing my review, they would make all these changes, though I don't feel like they should have to make deals like that to edit reviews. They should just admit that they were wrong and stick with the original quote, especially since I have proof of everything, including the text and emails I sent to my original scheduler, Edgar, who is now saying he never got any of them. So, I added 2 more stars, which I think is well higher than what they deserve, and still leave the warning "Use at your own risk. "

*Update 2/13/18* Finally got my "settlement" offer today. They think that they owe me $61 bucks for multiple broken or missing items, the major overcharges, lying, cheating, etc. I responded as politely as I could, telling them that there's nothing that $61 would cover, I want every penny back, and I'm going to get my lawyer involved now. So, David, you either refund my money and I disappear, or you have a lawsuit for fraudulent practice on your hands. And with the proof I have, I'll win.

When I started the process of looking for a moving company to help move my 1 bedroom apartment from Texas to California, I was looking for a company that was affordable and make this whole process easier. Transit Moving Systems is a complete scam and without question, the most unprofessional company I've ever dealt with. With such abysmal customer service you would think they were the cheapest option but that's the worst part, I had cheaper alternatives I was comparing them to. Unfortunately, I went with Transit because of what seemed to be a decent reputation and all their promises about making this process as seamless as possible. Do yourself a favor and keep looking.

To sum up my experience, their sales staff completely lied to me, saying that I should reserve more space in the truck than I actually have so that I don't get charged with surcharges for more cubic footage during pick-up. He also pointed out that I'd receive a refund for the space I don't actually use. This is also outlined in our contract, by the way. After the move, I call to ask about my refund for the space I didn't use and am now told that because the space was reserved, I need to pay for it, completely contradicting what I was originally told and what is outlined in our written agreement. After multiple calls and pointless conversations with their staff (on the rare occasion I was actually able to reach someone without being put on hold for 20mins), I finally hear from a supervisor and am told that I would be receiving a refund for the difference. It's been over 12 business days and still, no refund.

This is just 1 example of what you'll be dealing with by working with Transit Moving Systems. I ran into other multiple, similar situations centered around being told different things by different people and attempts to rob me out of more money. On top of that, they broke my $1000 wine fridge and bed frame and have are not doing anything to replace them. Can't say I'm surprised, considering my experience so far.

Between the time I spent on the phone with this company, dealing with the instance described above and countless others, I would have been better off loading my apartment into a Uhaul and driving it myself.

If I could give them no stars, I would. First the estimate they gave us seemed high for a 1 bedroom no living room furniture small house move. After they got it all on the truck, the driver said I owed them $2000.00 more and if I didn't pay, they would put it in storage and charge us a daily fee. I had no choice, we were all scheduled to leave that day. The delivery date was set for June 30 or July 1, but when we got to prescott, they delayed deliver 3 weeks. We camped out in our new home. Had to buy a bed, pots and pans some used furniture, many other things. .
When we did get our things, almost everything was damaged.
Furniture was scratched, gouged, chipped and really mishandled. All of our stem glasses were broken, I mean shattered. Many other items were damaged beyond use. Our chest freezer had its top crushed almost flat. It's too old to get a replacement top.
Many boxes and items were lost. I have been trying to find a lawyer, but they all want lots of money up front.
The claims we have made to the company have been unanswered. Not sure what to do.

Customer rep MARK will tell you anything to get you to sign only to screen your calls if you have a problem. I could never get a hold of him after he knew I had a problem. He is a snake!

They use the cheapest hired local help to move your stuff, don't move it direct as promised, And scratch and dent everything. I had 4 boxes not even make it to me. I can't say one good thing about this company.

Lately, I’ve been switching between jobs a lot so I have to move often. It’s extremely hectic and every time I do half of my stuff turns out to be damaged or broken. Unfortunately, I had to move again and the idea of losing my stuff stressed me out. Most of the items are my late grandmothers and I don’t want them to break or be mishandled. I had heard good things about Transit Moving Systems and thought I’d give them a call. When they came into pack my stuff, I knew then that I had come across trustworthy people.
BELIEVE ME! It was an excellent moving experience of my life after I met with Transit Moving Systems. The guys gave my stuff some extra care as I was the new customer to them, I received my stuff same in the condition I packed at the time of loading. I recommend them more than 5 stars of course!!

I'm just trying to settle down at my new place but that will not deter me from writing this review. I will like to acknowledge the great work Transit Moving Systems did for me when I was moving from Tarpon Springs to South Daytona. They adequately explained the whole process to me and nothing was hidden from me. They guided me in signing the contract papers and the price they gave me was moderate. The movers arrived at the proper time on the moving day, they actually came ten minutes before the scheduled time. This is a satisfactory service. I'm very grateful To Transit Moving Systems!!

I recently hired Transit Moving Sytems when I decided to move from Florida to Tennessee. They made the experience very hassle-free and easy. I was very surprised at how friendly and professional the staff was and how efficient they managed to get the job done. Transit Moving Systems did a wonderful job staying within my timeline for the move also. Very pleased with how the entire experience went and I will be recommending them to anyone needing a moving company. I would use them in the future for any other moving needs I might need. I have moved using several companies over the years but this experience was the absolute BEST. From the site visit to the loading day process, we were treated like the most important clients they ever had. Quick response to our needs and concerns was the norm for them. We were kept informed about our goods in storage and enrollee as well. The team that we met was on time and efficient. They went out of their way to make sure we were completely satisfied with the process. Thank you ALL so much for a stress free move.

I temporarily had to shift to a smaller office due to economic reasons. I didn’t know what to do with all my equipment and furniture to move from one place to another. I couldn’t sell it as I may need it in the near future. Stuffing it into my new office wasn’t an option as well due to limited space. A friend of mine told me to try Transit Moving Systems as he has heard they were pretty good in moving things. Hesitant at first, I contacted them and I’m glad I did. It’s going to be two years next month that they’ve been keeping my belonging locked away safely. I visited twice to check the condition and surprised to see the management that Transit Moving Systems carries with it. There is no even single damage to my stuff so far, Good work Keep it UP GUYS! These transit moving guys are definitely the best in this business. I will continue to be grateful to them for giving me an exceptional moving service. I spent a lot of time searching for a reliable moving company. I stumbled on transit moving systems online and with what I read about them, I was sure that they would not disappoint me. I did not waste time in awarding the job to them after I have received quotes from about four companies. Eventually, the moving day came and I was full of high expectations. I'm so happy that my expectations were not dashed and my goods were safely delivered.
Would surely hire them again to move my stuff as it is usual for me to move from one place to another..Many thanks GUYS!

Packaging and driving plays an important role during a move and that is what transit moving did to me. If you want your goods to reach your desired destination safely, then you need to choose a mover that offers professional packaging and goods or property delivery. One company that has surpassed my imagination is transit moving systems. They packed my moveable goods so that they don’t damage during the transit in a professional way. Even if you’re moving fragile glassware, transit moving is up for the task. I had an amazing experience last week when I was moving my textured glass to a construction site. None of my precious glasses broke in the moving process and they moved it without any damage safely. Thanks to the transit moving system as they made it simple for me to move.

The Transit Moving Company sales people were quite informative and helpful the first time I called them. Unlike most of the moving companies I had dealt with before, they were ready to patiently answer each of my many questions in a very clear and polite manner. They even offered to sent someone over to my office with the quote and more consultation over my move. On the day of moving, they sent their deft packers on time and soon everything was professionally packed before they executed a very smooth final move.
